Thanksgiving Celebration at The Hop Sheffield
On Thursday 24th November, we hosted our second annual Thanksgiving Feast at The Hop Sheffield and packed the house with American expats alongside their British partners and friends. There were a couple lone groups we teasingly referred to as the "curious Brits" that joined in on the fun to find out what this fuss about "giving thanks" and all things turkey was all about.

Luckily we were fortunate to have Dr Andrew Heath, University of Sheffield Lecturer in American History, accept our invitation to give a brief talk about Thanksgiving.
As in any long standing tradition of Thanksgiving celebration back home, we hosted the feast family style. Our American head chef and pitmaster Jeffrey Wright and his team went to great lengths to smoke and prepare the feast that featured what we hope brought a little taste of home to the table (see menu below). We would like to also thank the Sheffield American community for helping to spread the word about our event and joining us on the night. We look forward to next year's celebration but surely will need to be hosting the feast at a bigger space!
