Well, that was fun, now wasn't it!  The fifth instalment of our BBQ and Brewers Night series with North Union Brewing Co was by far our most adventurous to date.  Iain Kenny, Director and Head Brewer at North Union Brewing Co, was an excellent partner in this event as he certainly brought his creative best – his beers were a massive hit and we are pretty certain we did a bang-up job matching the right foods with the right beers.

You can never go wrong when a summer party includes a wheelbarrow filled with ice and a keg of Imperial Pale Lager and ends with a tense match of Beer Pong!!

Thanks to our growing and loyal followers, our Brewers Night is fast becoming and incredibly fun supper club for beer and food geeks. A shout out to Stuart Archer - Master Chef 2016 Finalist for his input to our menu ideas for this pairing ... and the lovely Laura Rangeley (@mrsmashtun) from Abbeydale Brewery for winning the beer pong tournament and walking away with a case of North Union beer and our smoked romas!

About North Union Brewing Co.

Iain Kenny began his interest in beer as a teenager working in a local off license, which led him to study Brewing and Distilling at Harriot Watt University in Edinburgh.

After university he worked his way to head brewer at Kelham Island Brewery, which he did for 8 years. Although Sheffield has a great tradition of cask ale, he wanted to bring some new and exciting styles of keg brewing to the city.  His own venture became North Union Brewing Co when he started cuckoo brewing with friends at nearby Harthill Village Brewery.

Iain then found a great location for his own place under a railway arch in the heart of Sheffield. It’s rustic feel is a good combination of the traditional and modern, and has plenty of room for brewing and a future tap and tasting room.

At North Union we aim for the highest quality with every beer we brew, using the best ingredients and a lot of care, and never compromise on flavour.
