Sundays at West Hampstead Food & Flea Market, Pt 2

What a perfect Sunday to the start our four-week residency at the West Hampstead Food and Flea Market. The sunny skies made it a perfect day out especially for family with kids. Our friends came out in full force to show their support. Kids enjoyed having their face painted while parents chomped away on their ribs. Whilst we were happy feeding our friends who have been staunch believers of our barbecue for so many years, we were equally thrilled to be serving new faces and making new friends with fellow #Whampers (West Hampstead locals). Our Memphis pork ribs and Kansas City beef ribs, which were served with Thai coleslaw and homemade pickles, went down so well we sold out by 2:30pm!

When the BBQ Collective was formed, it was never just about the team behind the food creation but also our ever growing multi-cultural, well-travelled and die-hard foodie friends – our biggest fans and toughest critics, who also make up the Collective. We duly noted all the constructive feedback you have shared, particularly what else we could offer on our menu. This truly is in keeping with the spirit of the Collective!

So this coming Sunday, we’ll have a dedicated dining area just for our customers and here’s what you can look forward to …

Our menu

  • Kansas City Baby Back Ribs with Thai Slaw and Homemade Pickles (choice of half a rack £7 or full rack £12)
  • Texas Beef Brisket Chili with Tortilla Chips, Sour Cream and Spring Onions (£5 – served in a bowl)
  • Thai Slaw, Homemade Pickles or Texas Beef Brisket Chili (£1 – kid portion)
  • Almond Cake (gluten free, contains nuts) £3 per piece
  • Beverages: a bottle of water, can of Coca-Cola, Diet Coke or flavoured San Pellegrino (£1)

Did you also know our ribs are pre-smoked and vacuum-sealed? So if you prefer to order a takeaway meal, you have the option to takeaway the “cook at home” pack. All you need to do is reheat the ribs (in the vacuum-sealed pack to keep the ribs moist) in the oven at 85C for 20 minutes and they are ready to go! It’s been tried and tested – the taste and moisture are preserved just as they were to come fresh off the smoker.
